We had a great time at the NAS sports centre in Dubai UAE preparing for the World Championship in Doha Qatar on the British Athletics holding camp.  The facilities was excellent and no wonder teams like Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona enjoys training here. Trans World Sport caught up with former British 800m runner Diane Modahl, 20 years on from the doping scandal that changed her life forever. Modahl was wrongly accused of doping in 1994 but with the help of her husband Vicente, successfully fought to clear her name.

Aussie International Ajdin Hrustic completed the season with FC Groningen

The Australian International  footballer Ajdin Hrustic completed the season with FC Groningen finishing 12th in Eresdivision, Netherland, after a tough autumn Ajdin played most of the games in the spring half, playing 23 games and scoring 2 goals.

The midfield player is now looking to establish himself in the Australian team after his debut last summer in the Confederation Cup against Brazil.

A new personal best by Aimee Pratt

Aimee Pratt opened the Track season with a new personal best and win at Mt Sac Relays in Los Angeles, California over 3000m Steeple Chase in a time of 9’54”16, Aimee ran a blistering last lap and moved from 5th to 1st and as a result won her first senior international race abroad.

Aimee arrived down from Flagstaff, Arizona the night before where she trained in High Altitude (2100m altitude) for 3 and a half week, training two sessions a day and laying the foundation for the long season ahead.  Still only 20 years of age and still a U23 age group runner for two more years, it was an impressive display.  Aimee will now focus on reaching the qualification time for the European Championship in Berlin in August over 3000m Steeple Chase for Team GB.
